Absolutely none. Every Into The Woods event is designed with complete beginners in mind. Our instructors will guide you through everything from scratch. The only thing you need to bring is a willingness to give it a go.
Wear clothes you do not mind getting muddy. Sturdy boots or walking shoes are essential. Bring layers, as woodland conditions can change quickly. A waterproof jacket is recommended. We will send you a full kit list when you book. We provide all specialist equipment.
Yes, we welcome families with children from around age 8 upwards. For private group bookings with younger children, please get in touch and we will design a programme appropriate for the age range. All activities are fully supervised and safety is always our top priority.
We are based at Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre, Lower Site, Downe Road, Downe, Sevenoaks, BR6 7LH. The What3Words address is river.jokes.became. There is free parking on site. We are approximately 15 minutes from Orpington, 10 minutes from Sevenoaks and easy reach from the M25 Junction 4.
Yes, absolutely. Many of our attendees come solo and it is one of the most common ways people join us. You will be placed in a group and most people leave having made genuine new friends. Solo attendance is actively encouraged.
We offer optional campfire lunch (£15 per person) and campfire dinner (£20 per person) add-ons. Food cooked over an open fire is one of the highlights of any event. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking and we will cater accordingly.
Our public events typically have between 8 and 20 participants. We keep groups deliberately small to ensure everyone gets proper instruction and attention. For larger corporate or private groups, we scale our team and facilities accordingly.
We operate in all weather. Rain, cold, mud - these are all part of the experience and make for great stories. We have sheltered areas on site and all our activities work in wet conditions. Events are only cancelled in genuinely dangerous weather, which is extremely rare.
Yes, this is a large part of what we do. From small leadership groups of 8 to large company events with 70+ delegates. We recently delivered a 2-day programme for Adobe with approximately 73 delegates. Contact us for a bespoke quote.
Add-ons can be requested when you book through the event booking link, or by contacting us at hello@into-the-woods.co.uk. Campfire lunch is £15 per person and campfire dinner is £20 per person. Please also inform us of any dietary requirements at this stage.
We do not offer refunds on bookings. However, if you are unable to attend, we are happy to move you to an alternative date. Please contact us as soon as possible at hello@into-the-woods.co.uk and we will do our best to accommodate you. If we cancel an event, you will of course be offered a full refund or a transfer to another date.
Yes. Safety is central to everything we do. All activities carry appropriate risk assessments and our instructors are fully trained in both the activities and in managing group safety. We use properly maintained equipment and operate within best practice guidelines. We have full public liability insurance.
